Mier College of Education (MCE) offers following program for the academic year 2022-2023

B.Ed (2 year)

Seats: 150

Eligibility:  Candida should have passed Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s Degree with minimum  50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ ST candidates) in the Faculty of Arts, Science, Social Science, Commerce or Faculty of Music and Fine Arts from the university of Jammu or an examination of any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.

75% of the sanctioned seats available in the college shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates who-

i) are Graduates or Post-Graduates of the University of Jammu,

Or

ii) belong to areas falling within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu but have passed the qualifying examination from a University other than the University of Jammu.

Or

iii) Such employees of the Central/ State Govt./ Public Sector Undertakings or any other organization recognized by the University of Jammu as are posted within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu or wards (sons, daughters or spouses) of such employees.

Kashmiri migrants in other parts of the Country are also eligible for admission to the B.Ed/ B. Ed Special Education (MR/ID) Course under Local Category of the admission within the

• 75% of the sanctioned seats in order of merit, provided such a candidate produces a documentary evidence of belonging to a family registered as Kashmiri Migrant.
• 25% seats shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates who neither belong to the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu nor have passed the qualifying examination from the University of Jammu.

Fees: Rs. 31,600/- Per Year

B.Ed. Specila Education (2 year)

Seats: 30

Eligibility: Candidates shoud hold Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree with at least 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST candidates)   in Science / Social Science / Humanities, Engineering or Technology with Specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) or any other qualification equivalent thereto from a recognized university.

75% of the sanctioned seats available in the College shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates who:

i) are Graduates or Post-Graduates of the University of Jammu,

Or

ii) belong to areas falling within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu but have passed the qualifying examination from a University other than the University of Jammu.

Or

iii) Such employees of the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings or any other Organization recognized by the University of Jammu as are posted within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu or wards (sons, daughters or spouses) of such employees.

M.Ed (2 year)

Seats: 50

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed the qualifying Degree examination of B.Ed with at lest 50 % marksin aggregate for general category and 45% marks for SC/ST category from any recognizeduniversity.

Selection Process: Admission shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test and academic merit in the qualifying examination from any recognized University .

The final merit shall be determined by giving a weightage of

• 30% to the marks obtained in the Entrance Test.
• 70% to the academic merit of the qualifying examination.

Fees: Rs. 50,000/- Per Year

M.A. Education (2 year)

Seats: 40

Eligibility: 

Candidate should hold Degree of

(i) B.Ed.

(ii) 4-year Integrated B.A., B.Ed., B.Sc., B.Ed., (iii) B.El.Ed., and (iv) D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each).

Selection Process: Admission shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test and academic merit in the qualifying examination from any recognized University .

The final merit shall be determined by giving a weightage of 30% to the marks obtained in the Entrance Test and 70% to the academic merit of the qualifying examination.

Fees: Rs. 27,000/- Per Year

Ph.D. Education (3 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should hold Master Degree in Education from recognised university.

Selection Process: Valid Score in Entrance Test.

Candidates having qualified UGC – NET in Education including JRF, SET, Teacher Fellowship Holders or those who have passed M. Phil. (Education) through regular mode are exempted from entrance test.

Score obtained in Admission Entrance Test: 40%

Total marks obtained in M.A. (Education)/M.Ed: 50%

Performance in Interview: 10%

Documents to be submitted at the time of admission:

• 10th standard certificate.
• Marks sheet of qualifying exm.
• Degree/Provisional certificate issued be institute/college last attended.
• Marks certificate of each part of the qualifying exam.
• Certificate of good conduct from the Principle of Collge.
• Category Certificate issued by competend authority as per the latest SRO issued by the JK govt. (if applicabe)
• Certificarte of being Permanent Resident of State of J&K issued by competend authority.
• Migration Certificate
• Affidavit as per the specimen available with the admission cell of the college.
