Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) was established on 24 November 1969.
The UGC conferred this University with status of “University with Potential for Excellence”in 2012. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore in November 2014re-accredited the University in 3rd cycle with CGPA of 3.51 out of 4-point scale at “A” grade(“A++”, highest level, as per the revised accreditation framework of NAAC dated 27th July, 2017).Earlier, it had been accredited at “A” grade level in 2000 and then reaccredited in 2007 with CGPAof 3.50/4.00. The current H index of the university is 102 indicating the quality of researchpublications at national and international level.
