Adesh University (AU) was established at Bhucho Kalan, Tehsil Nathna, Distt. Bathinda under an Act of Punjab State Legislature (Punjab Act No. 06 of 2012).

It was established in the State of Punjab in July 2012 by Act No. 6 of 2012 of Government of Punjab,  notified under Punjab Government Gazette dated July 10, 2012 under Punjab Private Universities policy 2010.
