Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda also known as Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University is an affiliating Technical university, established by Govt. of Punjab vide Punjab Act No. 5 of 2015 notified through Punjab Government Gazette-Extraordinary (Regd. No. CHD/0092/2015-2017) notification No. 5-Leg./2015 dated 12th February 2015. It is registered with UGC u/s 2(f) & 12B. It has been given membership of Association of Indian Universities w.e.f. 01.04.2016.
The objective of the university is to provide and upgrad quality technical education programs. Other than educational activities, the university has adopted 5 villages of Punjab – Nandgarh, Bajak, Bambiha, Kotguru and Dhunike for accelerating their overall growth.
