St. Xavier University (XU), Kolkata offers admissions to following programs for the academic year 2023-2024
Integrated Programs
BA LLB (5 year)
Eligibility: Age of the candidate should be 20 years or less as on 1st July 2023.
Candidate should pass 10+2 exam from recognised board.
Minimum marks shall be secured 45%.
Candidate must have studied English in 10+2.
The final +2 result must be submitted to the University at the time of admission. If a candidate is selected and/or provisionally admitted (on the basis of the marks of Xavier Law Admission Test [XLAT] 2023) but fails to fulfil the admission criteria (as mentioned here in), the candidate will not be eligible for admission, or the provisional admission (if admitted provisionally) will be cancelled. The paid fees will be refunded as per rules of the University.
Selection Process: Valid score in Xavier Law Admission Test (XLAT) 2023.
B.Com LLB (5 year)

RESERVATION FOR EWS (Economically Weaker Sections):A maximum 10% of the total seats for each course are reserved for EWS category. This provision is made as per the government guidelines. The candidate/s who opt for this category will be required to upload the EWS certificate issued by the competent authority. Without the certificate the application will be cancelled. Candidates are requested to check the detailed government notification before opting to apply for this category.

Specialization:
Eligibility: Candidate should hold a three-year Bachelor's Degree in relevant stream with at least 45% marks for General, 40% for Reserved Category in aggregate, from a recognized University.
Or
a Bachelor’s Degree with first class in any discipline (preferably in quantitative-based subjects of Natural and Biological Sciences, or in technical subjects such as Engineering/Technology).
Final year Degree students, who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June can also apply.

MBA (2 year)
Specialization:
Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree from Approved by UGC/ Any other recognized body with a minimum of 50% of marks (or equivalent grade point) in the aggregate.
In the case of SC, ST Candidates, 45% in the aggregate will suffice.
Those who are appearing for the final examination during the current academic year may also apply and submit the marks for the completed Semesters/ Years, as the case may be.
Selection Process: Valid Score in national entrance tests such as XAT, GMAT, MAT, CAT, etc.
Research Programs
Ph.D (3 year)
Specialization:
Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Master's Degree in relevant stream from recognised university/ institute.
Minimum marks shall be secured 55%.
A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, maybe allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently- abled andother categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time. Theeligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system isfollowed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible basedonly on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
Selection Process: Valid score in St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata Research Entrance Test (XU- RET) followed by Interview.
The Research Entrance Test will be followed by an interview on the subject concerned.Candidates who score more than 50% in XURET will be eligible to sit for the Interview.
Candidates who have qualified in the UGC/ CSIRNET or SET / SLET /GATE or haveobtained DSTINSPIRE Fellowship /Teacher fellowship or have passed equivalentexaminations or passed the M.Phil./ M. Tech / M.D/ M.E./ M. Pharm or equivalentexamination in the subject or allied subject (as approved by DRC) shall be exempted fromthe written test of St. Xavier’s University Research Entrance Test (XURET) conducted bythe University but have to qualify in the interview on the subject to be conducted by theappropriate Department Research Committee (DRC), will be eligible for admission.

3. One passport size colour photograph (to be affixed on application form)
4. No-Objection Certificate from the employer (If applicable)
5. One example of scholarly research or professional writing (preferable)
