Gauhati University (GU) offers following programs for the academic year 2024-2025

BA LLB (5 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should pass in 10+2 exam from recognised board.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 45%.

In case of reserved category 40%.

Selection Process: Valid score in entrance test.

B.Tech (4 year)

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects in the qualifying examination without grace marks.

Minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCB is required in the qualifying examination for the candidates belonging from GEN/Open category and 50% marks for SC/ST (P)/ST (H)/OBC/MOBC category.

Candidate’s age must be in between 17 to 24 years on 31st December of the year of admission. 3 years age relaxation is provided to the SC/ST (P)/ST (H)/OBC/MOBC category candidates.

Selection Process: Valid Score in CEE Assam.

B.Tech (lateral entry to 2nd year) 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent in theconcerned branch with first class or equivalent grade

Selection Process: Admission test to be conducted by respective departments of GUIST.

B.Com + M.Com Integrated Program (5 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should pass in 10+2 exam from recognised board.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 55%.

SC/ ST/ OBC and MOBCcandidates shall be given relaxation up to 5% of marks.

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree of 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or in Major/Hons. subject (if any) from Gauhati University or any other recognized university.

Selection Process: Valid score entrance test.

Shortlisted candidates for GD and PI round to report at the Department of Business Administration (MBA) for their GD and PI.

All shortlisted candidates are required to produce their original testimonials from Matriculation to Degree before appearing for their GD and PI rounds.

Admit card for GET has to be produced by all shortlisted candidates.

M.Tech (2 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a B.E/ B.Tech Degree from recognised university/ institute.

Minimum marks shall be secured 50%.

Selection Process: Valid GATE score.

M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing (2 year)

Seats: 12

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a B.Sc. Degree in Nursing  from recognised institute  as equivalent.

Minimum marks shall be secured 55%.

B.Sc. Nursing candidates should have one year experience/internship after Registration with Nursing Council.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing qualified candidates shall have one year experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and registration in the respective State Nursing Council.

Age: Upper age limit for General Merit candidates shall be 46 years and for Service candidates 49 years as on the last date for submission of application.

Selection Process: Valid score in entrance test.

M.Com (2 year)

Seats: 60

Eligibility: Candidate should hold B.Com. Degree from recognised university/ institute.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 45%.

Selection Process: Valid score in entrance test.

MLISc (1 year)

Seats: 30

Eligibility: Candidate should hold BLISc Degree from recognized university/institute.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 45%.

Selection Process: Valid score in entrance test.

LLM (2 year)

Seats:  40

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a LLB Degree from Gauhati University or any other university or institution recognized by Gauhati University shall be eligible to apply for admission into the Semester I of the LLM course.  

Minimum marks shall be secured 55%.

Relaxation of 5% of marks will be given to SC, ST, OBCand MOBC candidates who are permanent residents of Assam.

Selection Process: Valid score in entrance test and interview.

Register yourself and enter your Name, mobile no., email id, father’s name, and select domicile Click on “Submit”.

On completing the form an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile no.

Click on “Verify OTP” link.

Now fill your personal details in the registration form and submit it.

Log in to your account and click on “Online Admissions” link.

Fill in the application form.

Upload all the documents in .jpg format.

Submit the application form.

Pay fee online.

Filled registration form should be reached to the university admission office before due date.

Mode of Paymen: There is  the option of making the payment of fees bank charges through the online mode as no other mode of payments will be entertained.

Following documents should be provided at the time of admission:

1. Degree Marksheets, Certificates from the Head of the Institution last attended

2. 10th Certificate or Admit Card for verification of age

3. Registration Certificate of the last course attended

4. Relevant certificate(s) from concerned authority in case of those applying for admission under any category of reservation.
