Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites application for admission to the eligible candidates for the academic year 2023-2024
B.Sc. Nautical Science (3 year)
Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with-
Maximum age:
Relaxation of 5% for English marks will be applicable for candidates who belong to the Scheduled Tribes and are natives of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Additionally, both the candidates’ parents must be born in the islands and belong to the Scheduled Tribes of their islands.
For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks.
Physical Standards: Medically fit as per the standards set by M. S. Medical Examination Rules.
Eyesight: Candidates have to qualify a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course. They should have 6/6 in each eye without visual aids and should be free from colour blindness.
Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the course.
Selection Process: Admission to the course is based on rank obtained in IMUCET/ CUET.
Fees: Rs. 2,20,000/- Per Year.
B.Tech. Marine Engineering (4 year)

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with-
Maximum age:
The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (21.08.2023).
For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks
Physical Standards: All Candidates who qualify for this course will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of Certificate Verification.
Eyesight: Candidates have to qualify a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course. They should have 6/6 in each eye without visual aids and should be free from colour blindness.
Selection Process: Admission to the course is based on rank obtained in IMUCET.
Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year: 3-years Engineering Diploma in Marine/ Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course
Or
4 years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the last year of diploma course
Or
1st year training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G. Shipping (This will not be applicable to MERI).
Or
1st year from the Engineering College in other streams like Mechanical or Electrical approved by AICTE with minimum 60% average marks.
Or
3 years Diploma Course in the following categories, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course:
a) Mechanical Engineering Stream: Automobile /Machine Tools and Maintenance /Plant Engineering / Production Technology /Production Engineering /Advanced Diploma in Tool and Die Making.
b) Electrical Engineering Stream: Electrical Power System
c) Electrical and Electronics Engineering Stream: Digital Electronics / Electronics and Communications/ Electronics & Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics / Electronics / Electronics Production & Maintenance /Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering
And
The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in the Degree/Diploma Course conducted by a recognized board or University.
The candidate should have completed the diploma within its stipulated duration of 3 or 4 years as the case may be.

BBA (3 year)
Specialization:
Eligibility: Pass 10+2 or equivalent exam with minimum 60% in any discipline. Minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.
Minimum age of the candidate shall be 17 years.
Maximum age
There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks, it will not apply to English Marks.
Candidate shall be medically fit.
Selection Process: Admission to the course is based on rank obtained in CUET/ 12 marks.
Fees: Rs.1,00,000/- Per Year
MBA (2 year)
Specialization:
Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree from recognized universities.
Minimum marks shall be secured 50%.
A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / UG Degree.
In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks, it will not apply to English marks.
Candidate should be medically fit.
Selection Process: Admission to the course is based on rank obtained in IMUCET.
Fees: Rs. 2,00,000/- Per Year
M.Tech (2 year)
Specialization:
Eligibility: Candidate should be a Graduate Engineering in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% aggregate.
In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.
No maximum age limit.
Selection Process: Admission to the course is based on rank obtained in IMUCET.
Fees: Rs. 2,25,000/- Per Year
Diploma in Nautical Science (1 year)
Seats: 80
Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 or its examination equivalent with:
Maximum age
Physical Standards: Candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties, as per the medical standards laid down by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India.
Eyesight: Candidate must have 6/6 vision in both eyes. Color blindness is not permitted.
Medical fitness has to be certified by DG Shipping approved company doctors.
There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks o fPCM for SC/ST candidates, however, it will not apply to English Marks.

Note: Candidates who are applying on the basis of CAT/ MAT/ CMAT scores for MBA Programs and those who are applying on basis of GATE/ CUET (PG)/ PGCET for M. Tech. Programs need to register for Counselling.

Candidates with valid score card of CAT/ MAT / CMAT are eligible for MBA and the candidates with valid score card of GATE/ CUET (PG)/ PGCET are eligible for M. Tech.
Application Fee for applying online registration
The Application Fee for Registration is non-refundable and is for issuing of Rank Certificate. IMU reserves the right to adopt any method such as Entrance Exam (IMU-CET)/Normalisation of entry qualification marks to arrive at ranks, etc. for issuing of Rank Certificate to qualified candidates.

The CET candidates will be able to download the Hall Tickets. Automated e-mails/ SMS will be sent to every registered applicant on successful registration of Application, uploading of Hall Ticket, publication of results, etc.

For Counselling:
The candidates who wish to apply on the basis of CUET scores for UG are not required to apply in this portal and should apply later during Spot Counselling registration for UG Programs.
Candidates who are applying on the basis of CUET scores for UG Programs need to register for Spot Counselling. The information regarding this will be announced on the university website after IMUCET rank list.
After online counselling, the seats will be allotted and the candidate isrequired to confirm the seat within specified number of days by payingthe Programme fees (Rs.25000-Non-refundable) through portal. Afterfinal seat allotment, the candidate will be required to appear before theDirector of the campus allotted with medical certificate and originalcertificates for verification as per the dates mentioned in the Allotment Letter.
