Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DYSRHU): Admission 2023

Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DYSRHU) offers following programs for the academic year 2023-2024

Diploma in Horticulture (1 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should pass in 10th or 10th+2 from recognised board.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 50%.

Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PH must have passed with 40%.

75% of seats are reserved for the candidates who have studied for a minimum period of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas of Andhra Pradesh out of 10 years period (1st class to 10th class).

Form-I certified by the Head Master of the School and Mandal Revenue Officer / Tahsildar with office seal  must be enclosed for certifying the candidate, who  has studied for a minimum period of four years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas of Andhra Pradesh during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class.

25 % of seats are reserved for the candidates who have studied in Municipal areas of Andhra Pradesh.

Age should be between 15-22 years, 13-14 years students can also apply duly producing the age relaxation certificate issued by Government of A.P.

Selection Process: Selection for the program is made on the basis of mraks obtained in 10th exam.

Fees: Rs. 1,07,30/- Per Year


 

B.Sc. Horticulture (4 year)

Eligibility: Candidate has to pass 10+2 exam with Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 50%.

Age should be between 17-22 years and  25 years in respect of S.C. & S.T. candidates and 27 years in respect of PH candidates.

Selection Process: Valid Score in TS EAMCET 2022.

15% of B.Sc (Hons.)  Horticulture seats are allotted to Diploma students through  HORTICET entrance.

In case of a tie in ranks obtained by two or more candidates in the EAMCET, the age shall be taken into consideration and the older candidate shall be given the seat. In case of tie both in the ranks and age, the marks secured in the optional subjects of the Qualifying examination shall be taken into consideration.

Fees: Rs. 1,04,100/- Per Year


 

M.Sc. Horticulture (2 year)

Specialization:

  • Fruit Science
  • Vegetable Science
  • Floriculture and Landscape Architecture
  • Plantation, Spices, Medicinal & Aromatic Crops
  • Post Harvest Technology
  • Plant Pathology
  • Entomology

Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission into Master’s Degree course in Horticulture must have passed the B.Sc. (Hort.) / B.Sc. (Hons.) Hortilculture of atleast 50% from ICAR accredited Colleges/State Agriculture/Horticultural Universities.

Age: The upper age limit is 40 years as on 1st July of the admission year for the course.

Selection Process: Valid Score in ICAR AIEEA (PG).

In case of a tie, the candidates who secures more marks at previous qualification shall be preferred.

In case of a further tie,  the marks obtained at B.Sc. / M.Sc. level shall be considered.

For further tie breaking, date of birth shall be considered and older candidates shall be preferred.

Reservations for Local & Non-Local candidates:

The total number of seats approved in the combined university of Dr.YSRHU were divided in the ratio of 64% (42% for AU + 22% for SVU) and 36% OU for Dr.YSRHU and SKLTSHU respectively after bifurcation of the State & University duly following the provisions under the article 371D.

Among the allotted 64% of seats (Dr.YSRHU), the local seats (85%) will be filled by the local candidates in the ratio of 42:22 for AU & SVU regions respectively. 

The remaining 15% of the unreserved / non-local seats will be filled in open competition.

Reservation for SC, ST and BC Candidates: 15%, 6% and 29% of the seats in the Degree program of study shall be reserved for the candidates belonging to SCs, STs, and

 BCs respectively.

Reservation for women candidates @ 33%

3% seats in the course are reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates as per  the   Government norms.  

10% of seats (over and above) are reserved for EWS category over and above regular   seats in each degree/discipline.

If a local candidate in respect of a local area is not available to fill any seat reserved or allotted in favour of local candidate in respect of local area, such seat shall be filled as if it had not been reserved.

Rules of Reservations for E.W.S. Category – 10% of seats are reserved.

Fees: Rs. 57,740/- Per Year


 

Ph.D. Hotriculture (3 year)

Specialization:

  • Fruit Science
  • Vegetable Science
  • Floriculture and Landscape Architecture
  • Plantation, Spices, Medicinal & Aromatic Crops
  • Plant Pathology
  • Entomology

Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission into Master’s Degree course in Horticulture must have passed the M.Sc. (Hort.) / M.Sc. (Hons.) Hortilculture of atleast 50% from ICAR accredited Colleges/State Agriculture/Horticultural Universities.

Age: The upper age limit is 47 years as on 1st July of the admission year for the course.

Selection Process: Valid Score in ICAR AICE JRF/SRF (Ph.D).

In case of a tie, the candidates who secures more marks at previous qualification shall be preferred.

In case of a further tie,  the marks obtained at B.Sc. / M.Sc. level shall be considered.

For further tie breaking, date of birth shall be considered and older candidates shall be preferred.

Candidate may visit institute admission office to collect application form for admission or candidiate may visit university website to apply online

Every downloaded online application should be accompanied with a DD drawn in favour of   “The Comptroller, Dr.YSRHU, Payble at Tadepalligudem”.

The Application form fee is Rs. 500/- for General & BC category candidates and Rs. 1,000/- respectively for Ph.D Program.

For SC/ST/PHC category candidates is Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred and fifty only) and Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) respectively.

Application forms duly filled in all respects with relevant certificates together with  Demand Draft (Original) should be sent to
