Bharathidasan University (BU) Candidates wish to pursue Ph.D program (both Full-time / Part-time) in the university departments, Affiliated Colleges and other Approved Research Centres of Bharathidasan University are instructed to apply ONLINE for the Pre-Registration Qualifying Online Entrance Examination.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed any PG Degree under regular pattern in recognized  university.

50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) / Person with Disability.

55% marks for all Other Candidates.

However, Candidates who are pursuing final year PG Course may also apply for the Pre-Registration Entrance Examination for Ph.D. Program. 

Selection Process: Valid Score in Entrance Test.

Following candidates are included to qualify the Ph.D Entrance Test.

Candidate having M.Phil Degree.

Candidates holding fellowship in MHRD/ RGNF/ CSIR/ UGC/ DBT/ DST/ ICSSR etc.

Candidates qualified UGC-CSIR/ NET/ SET/ GATE/ any other national level exam.

Online applications are mandatory

Students will be appearing from their residence for this online examination

1. For applying online Registration, the applicant’s should keep ready the following scanned images in JPEG / GIF format to upload in the online application at the requested location.

• His / Her recent passport size photograph (less than 30KB)
• Community certificate (less than 100 KB size, not required for OC category)
• 10th, 10+2 mark statements (each less than 100KB)
• UG consolidated (or) Degree certificate (less than 100KB)
• PG mark statements (each less than 100KB)
• His / Her Signature (less than 30KB)
• Disability certificate if applicable

2. After uploading the images in the online application,  the documents should be the readable quality.

3. Applicant’s name should be capital with the initial at the end. 

4. A valid email id, mobile number and Aadhar (or) Voter id number are to be filled.

5. E-mail ID and Mobile Number are to be kept in active mode. Bharathidasan University will send the Registered Application number and login details to your Email ID only. You have to look for E-mail reply from University.

6. The appropriate certificate must be uploaded online if you are a physically challenged candidate.

7. Select the appropriate Faculty and Subject studied in your PG Degree from the Prospectus page. The appropriate question paper will be provided based on your PG subject. The main subject knowledge will be tested in case your specialization falls in the grouped subject titles. Choice once exercised cannot be altered later.

8. Ongoing final year PG students may also apply with their available PG marks sheets but the pass certificate will be issued only after providing a Cumulative Mark Statement or Degree with the minimum eligible percentage of marks.

No need to send any hardcopy of the application or certificates that are already attached.

100 Multiple Choice Objective Questions (100 marks)

There is no negative mark for the wrong answers.
