Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MBBS in Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and ResearchThe candidate must have attained the age of 17 years on or before the 31st of December in the academic year in which they are seeking admission.
For admission to the course, candidates from all categories except Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe must have achieved a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany/ Zoology) or Biotechnology at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream 10+2/ HSE/ PUC) after completing 12 years of study.
In the case of candidates who have studied abroad, eligibility will be determined based on the equivalent qualification as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. They should have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology), and English up to the 12th standard level with an aggregate of 50% marks.
For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe or other backward classes, the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40%, whereas for the General category, it is 50%.
Selection Process:
Admission to MMCH&RI follows a stringent merit-based process, adhering to the guidelines set by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations. This process is in accordance with the national policy governing admissions, which may be subject to periodic updates.
The selection of students is conducted through an All India Examination (NEET), ensuring a fair and standardized evaluation. Following the examination, a counseling session is held to finalize the selection based on the merit list. Subsequently, classes commence in August, providing an opportunity for the selected candidates to pursue their chosen course.
Upon successful completion of the program, the degrees are conferred by the University to the eligible candidates, recognizing their dedication and academic accomplishments.
