Selection Process: Valid Score in VTUEEE/ JEE MAIN.

Direct Admission: Candidate obtained at least 60% marks in 10+2 exam from recognised board are eligible for admission.

Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year: (i)The candidates having Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.Tech in the branch corresponding to the branch of study.

(ii) The candidates who possess the Degree in Science (B.Sc.,) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.Tech.

Biotechnology: Candidate should hold a Degree of of B.E/ B.Tech in Biotechnology (B.E/ B.Tech. in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Genetic Engineering/tech, Industrial Biotechnology,Biochemical Engineering/tech, Agricultural Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical technology) M.Sc in Life Sciences (Biotechnology,Microbiology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology), B.Pharma/ Master’s degree in Science or 4-yearBachelor’s degree in Engineering, with biology or related subjects as one of the papers at the 10+2 level or later.

Research Program

Ph.D (3 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Master Degree in related branch from recognised university/ institute.

Minimum marks shall be secured 55%.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

Selection Process: On the basis of marks obtained in Entrance Exam.

The selection of candidates, weightage of 70% to the entrance examination and 30% to the performance in the interview shall be given

Candidates with UGC/CSIR (JRF)/NET/SLET/Teacher -Fellowships/M.Phil/ other National level eligibility test may be exempted from written entrance examinations.
