Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) offers admission for the academic year 2023-2024 to following programs

B.Tech (4 year)

Specialization:

• Civil Engineering
• Information Technology
• Computer Science & Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering

Eligibility:  Candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. 

Selection Process: Valid Score in HPCET/ JEE MAIN.

• 50% seats will be filled on the rank obtained in JEE MAIN.
• 50% seats is for candidate applying on the basis of HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after  JEE MAIN and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized board or university.

Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year: Candidate should have passed Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. with Mathematics as a subject, obtained minimum 45% (40% in canse of candidates belonging to reserved category) marks.

Selection Process:  Selection for the  course under Lateral Entry Scheme shall be made on the basis of merit of diploma in appropriate branch conducted by HP Takniki Shiksha Board.

Fees: Rs. 2,00,000/- Total.

B.Pharm (4 year)

Eligibility:  Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/ Biology subject securing not less than 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.

Selection Process: Valid Score in HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after  admitting through HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized board/ university. 

Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year:  Candidates must have passed Diploma Examination in D.Pharmacy from an institution approved by the PharmacyCouncil of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Selection Process:  Selection to the B.Pharm underLateral Entry Scheme shall be made on thebasis of merit of Diploma in Pharmacy conducted by H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board.

B. Pharm. (Ayurveda) (4 year)

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects from recognised board.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 45% (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Selection Process: The admission to B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda) first year Degree course shall be made on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized board/ university.

B.Arch (5 year)

Eligibility:  Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with  minimum 50% in aggregate or candidates who have Passed Diploma examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject having obtained minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

Selection Process: Valid Score in NATA/ marks obtained in 10+2.

• 50% NATA
• 50 % based on marks obtained in  10+2.

Fees: Rs. 2,00,000/- Total.

Specialization:

• Hotel Management and Catering Technology

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognized board shall be eligible to apply.

Candidate should have obtained minimum 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ ST category) in the qualifying examination.

Selection Process: Valid Score in HPCET.

Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT ) (4 year)

Eligibility:  Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognized board shall be eligible to apply.

Candidate should have obtained minimum 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ ST category) in the qualifying examination.

Selection Process: Valid Score in HPCET.

Selection Process: Valid Score in GATE/ HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after admission through GATE, the vacant seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after admission through on merit of National Level Test and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of B.E/ B.Tech Degree awarded by a recognized university.

Eligibility: Candidate hold a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Degree obtaining not less 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

Eligibility:  Candidate hold a Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration from recognised university with at least 50%marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

Maximum age for boys: 26 years.

Maximum age for girls: 28 years.

For SC/ST (Both boys/girls): 29 years as on 1st July of admission year. 

Selection Process: Valid Score in CAT, CMAT, MAT /HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after admitting through National Level Tests, the same shall be filled up on the basis of merit of HPCET.

In case the seats remain vacant after admitting through National Level Tests and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of Bachelor Degree examination conducted by a recognised university.

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level  or at Graduate level securing atleast 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

Maximum age for girls: 28 years.

Eligibility: 

M.Sc. in Applied Physics:  Candidates who have passed Bachelor's Degree in science with minimum 50% marks(45% in case of reserved  categories) in aggregate in the three years of Degree.

M.Sc. in Environmental Science:  Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. Degree with Botany, Zoology/ Biotechnology and Chemistry or B. Sc. No Medical with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks ( 45% in case of reserved categories) in aggregate in the three years of Degree. 

Maximum age for boys: 26 years.

Maximum age for girls: 28 years.

Interested candidate may visit university website to apply online.

A separate application is required to be submitted for each program.

(i) Candidates who have qualified HPCET need not to apply for admission-cum- counseling form on the basis of HPCET. Such candidate may appear directly in the counseling as per counseling schedule given in the admission Brochure.

(ii) Candidates who have obtained minimum cut of marks in National level test/ qualifying Examination are required to pay non- refundable application processing fee of

•  Rs. 1,550/- for candidates of General category  and
•  Rs. 1,400/- for candidates of SC/ST/BPL Categories

before submission of the application ONLINE.

(iii) If candidates apply on the basis of both National level test  and qualifying Examination, the candidates are required to pay non- refundable application processing fee of

• Rs. 3,100/- for candidates of General category  and

• Rs. 2,800/- for candidates of SC/ST/BPL Categories

National Level Test, HPCET  And  on the basis of Qualifying Examination for appearing in Counseling.

Upload the scanned copy of your own signature and photograph and your parent/guardian’s digital signature.

Choose category you belong to. (Make sure you should have caste certificate issued by competent authority)

Candidates who haven’t appeared for HPCET  have to pay application processing fee of

(xi) Kashmiri Migrants and domicile certificate issued by Competent Authority, if applied under Supernumerary Kashmiri Migrant Quota.

(xii) In case an intervening period/gap is involved, a certificate/affidavit issued by a Class-I Gazetted Officer/Notary Public shall be required for the entire intervening period/gap showing candidate’s preoccupation after leaving the Institution last attended.
