Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year:
(A) Hold a 3 years Diploma with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology.
(B) Hold a B.Sc. Degree with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
(C) Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream, shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year Engineering Programme along with the Second year subjects.
(D) Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with Students belonging to the Diploma stream.

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a
a) Master's Degree from recognised university/ institute.
Minimum mark shall be secured 55%, 50% for SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently- Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS)] in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
b) 1-year/2-semester Master's Degree program after 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s Degree program or programs or qualifications declared equivalent to master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 75% marks [70% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, EWS] in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
c) Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. program with at least 55% marks [50% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, EWS] in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification.
Selection Process: Valid Score in AdtU-RET Examination and Interview.
AdtU-RET has the following two components:
(a) Written test [70marks]
(b) Interview/Personal Interaction [30 marks]
Students who have secured 50% marks in the written test will be eligible for the interview.
Exemption from Entrance test: The candidates who have qualified who qualify for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/ UGCCSIR NET/ GATE/ GPAT/ CEED and similar National level tests based on an interview in the concerned subject are exempted from the written examination of AdtU-RET. However, they shall have to appear in counselling for getting admission into the program.

The application fee of Rs. 500/- can be deposited by any one of the following ways:
• Depositing cash at Assam Down Town University Fee Counter

• Depositing cash at your nearest UCO Bank or ICICI Bank branch. Through Credit Card/ Debit Card in case of online submission of form

The successful applicants will have to undergo a personal interview (PI) by the counsellors & senior Admission officials.

If selected, applicant may deposit the fee through Cash/ DD at the Assam Down Town University campus or pay online through bank transfer or net banking within 15 days of selection.
Step 6
The applicant must report and enrol/ register himself/ herself at the Administrative Office of the University Campus within 15 days of depositing the fees.
Ph.D Application Process

After submitting the AdtU-PhD RET application online, please send the scanned copies of the following documents in a single PDF file to the Ph.D. Cell Coordinat or via email at phd@adtu.in:
- Acknowledgement of online submission of the AdtU-RET application.
- All testimonials, including all mark sheets and pass certificates, combined in a single PDF.
Certificate of qualification/grade card of UGC/CSIR-NET (JRF), including SLET/SET/M.Phil.
Certificate of qualification/scorecard for GPAT/GATE/MAT/CAT, if applicable.
Admission will be granted on the basis of merit and subject to seat availability.
Selected candidates must complete the admission process within the specified time after the verification of original documents and submission of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in the given format from their employer.
Submission of No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory during the admission process.
