Eligibility and Selection Procedure for BTech in RL Institute of Nautical Sciences Candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from any Govt. recognised Board (passed in first attempt). Candidate must secured minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Min. 50% marks in English either in Class X or in Class XII. Selection Process: Valid Score in Common Entrance Test conducted every Academic Year by the Indian Maritime University. Age Limit shall be as follows on the date of admission on 01 August 2019 : I) Minimum Age - 17 Years II) Maximum Age - 25 Years Relaxation: Maximum age relaxation is 5 years . 5% relaxation in PCM marks, which will not be applicable to English marks. Medical: Eye Sight: Distance vision (unaided 0.5 *(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in better eye and 0.33 *(6/18) in other eye; and No Color Blindness: Shall be tested by Ishihara test chart. No Night Blindness A Second Eye test will be conducted by our institute's Ophthalmologist at Madurai to ensure complete complaince with the requirement. If you any candidate fail in this eye test, the admission will be withdrawn and the amount paid will be refunded after deducting administrative charges. Lateral Entry- Duration 3 years: Candidates have to pass 10+2 with minimum 55% marks overall in 3 year diploma in Marine / Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or 4 years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE or any State Board of Technical Education. Minimum 50% marks in English in either 10th or 12th or Diploma Examination The candidate should have completed the diploma within its stipulated duration.
