Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), was established during 1996 by the Act of State Legislature with the vision of 'Higher Education to Everyone, Everywhere.' The University is committed to quality assurance and maintenance of standards in Distance Education. It has a major responsibility in extending Higher Education to the nook and corner of Karnataka State. Today, Higher Education stands at the crossroads of keeping pace with the emerging needs of the country. Distance Education system has come into existence for certain philosophical, socio-economic reasons as an alternative system for enhancing the human resource potential of the society. It aims at providing social justice and also to expand and democratize education in order to reach out to the denied and deprived of the society.
