Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College of Law (JCCC) was established by CHAUDHURI FOUNDATION TRUST.
The Law College was named after Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri who has an honoured place in India's independence movement.
The University of Calcutta had granted affiliation to this College for the first time in 1970, vide an Office letter No. C/661/204 affiliation dated 24.09.1970, for a period of 3 years. Thereafter , the affiliation of the College has been renewed from time to time on a continued basis. The College has been granted Permanent Affiliation by the University of Calcutta for having attained the prescribed academic and administrative standards, vide letter No. C/183/204- Affiliation dated 08.02.2000 issued by the Inspector of Colleges, University of Calcutta vide Calcutta University Syndicate Resolution Item No. 44 dated 30.09.2008, the College has also been granted affiliation for introducing 5 year B.A, LL.B (Hons) Course from the session 2008-2009 onwards having attained the Bar Council of India, University Grants Commission and Calcutta University prescribed infrastructure and high academic standards.
