Eligibility |
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for PhD in Indian Institute of Technology - Indian School of Mines Candidate should hold Master's Degree in relevant stream. Minimum marks shall be obtained 60%. The medium of instruction, publication of research paper and reporting will be in English. Therefore,the scholars are required to possess adequate knowledge of English. Age: Age limit for various categories as on the last date of online application are: For General Male Candidate : 30 years Others (Women, OB, PC, SC & ST) : 35 years Age relaxation as above will be allowed for candidates with valid documents. The original documents will be scrutinized prior to the interview and if found incorrect/ insufficient the candidature will be cancelled. Physically Challenged (PC) / colour blind candidate. The candidates having valid score in CSIR, UGC, DST, are eligible for Ph.D. program. Gender: Female candidates are not eligible for admission in Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering disciplines. A candidate, who has qualified GATE/ NET/ DST-Inspire/ Prime Ministers Research Fellowship(PMRF)/Appropriate National Level Examination, is eligible for Ph.D. admission only inEngineering, Science, Management Studies and Humanities & Social Sciences. In the case ofcandidates who apply with GATE score, the validity of GATE score is not an essential criteria. Acandidate who has qualified CAT/GMAT is eligible for Ph.D. in Management. Candidates in the final year of the qualifying degree may be considered for provisional admission. |

Admission Procedure IIT IMS 2021
Application fee of Rs. 2,000/-(Rs. 1,000/-for SC/ST and PD candidates) shall be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines and payable at Dhanbad, and should be submitted along with a print out of the filled-in online application form and necessary documents to Deputy Registrar (Exam & Academic),
Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad–828206, Jharkhand.Note: The institute will not issue any letter to any candidate regarding attending GD/PI as well as selection to the Program. The candidates must consult institute’s website regularly in this regard or for any updates, if any.
