The admission criteria shall be the valid GATE score (both qualified and not qualified).

If any seats remain vacant after the first step as above, the admissions shall be made on the basis of merit of qualifying examination.

All GATE qualified students shall be eligible for AICTE scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month whereas all other students (GATE not qualified) shall be eligible for teaching assistantship of Rs. 7000/- per month through TEQIP-II grant till the project ends.

For M. Tech. in Biotechnology, if the sufficient candidates with B. Tech. qualification are not available against Uttarakhand seats then the vacant seats shall be filled by the Uttarakhand candidates with M. Sc. (Life Sciences) / B. Pharma.* qualification. If still any seats remain vacant, it shall be converted to All India seats in the corresponding category.

*The candidates must note that even after obtaining M. Tech. (Bio Tech) degree, those who are not having B. Tech. (Bio Tech) degree may not be eligible for teaching posts where eligibility is as per AICTE norms (which presently requires both B. Tech. and M. Tech. Degrees compulsorily). Such candidates will have to provide an undertaking of this nature as per the format enclosed.

Candidates are required to bring the following documents in original, along with a set of photocopy, for counselling to ensure confirmation of admission.

1.     Mark sheet & Certificate 10th Class
2.     Mark Sheet & Certificate 12th Class
3.     Mark Sheet & Certificate B.Tech.
4.     Valid GATE Score Card (For qualified as well as not qualified)
5.     Category certificate [SC/ST/OBC#]
6.     Migration Certificate
7.     Character Certificate

# The OBC Certificate must be latest as per Uttarakhand Govt. Norms.

Candidates have to deposit a DD of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only, non refundable) as counselling charges in favour of Principal, GBPEC Pauri Garhwal, payable at Pauri Garhwal.

The admitted candidates have to deposit a DD of Rs. 26105/- (Rs. Twenty six thousand one hundred and five only) (*see fees details) in favour of Principal, GBPEC Pauri Garhwal, payable at Pauri Garhwal on 27th July for confirmation of admission.
