Applications for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2021 conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu from candidates who seek admission to

2. MCA

3. M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch/ M.Plan Degree Programs for the year 2021 – 2022 offered at University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Campuses of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including stand-alone Institutions) in Tamil Nadu can be registered only through Online. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2021.

Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test, but the eligibility conditions will be stipulated by the admitting authority / University.

i. University Departments of Anna University, Chennai – 25, Anna University Regional Campuses and University College of Engineering.

ii. Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges. 

and

iii. Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / including stand-alone Institutions) under Government Quota and seats voluntarily surrendered by the Self-financing Colleges in Tamilnadu for admission through Single-Window System.

Other Universities functioning under the state Act in Tamilnadu and self-financing colleges (Engineering Colleges, Arts & Science Colleges / including stand-alone Institutions) may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of the Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test 2021.

c) M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan Degree Programs

Offered at:

i. University Departments of Anna University, Chennai – 25, Anna University Regional Campuses and University Colleges of Engineering.

ii. Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges. 

and

iii. Self-financing Engineering Colleges for the seats voluntarily surrendered for admission through single window counselling.

Other institutions may also opt to admit candidates on the basis of the Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test 2021.

MBA: A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying  Degree examination.

(a) 10+2+3/4 years pattern

(b) 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern

 (or)

(c) B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Pharm.

 (or)

(d) (i) 10+2+AMIE

 (or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE. 

MCA: A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

(c) (i) 10+2+AMIE

 (or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of  Technical Education) + AMIE

MCA Lateral Entry: A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information

Technology) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.10+2+3 years Pattern.

M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch/ M.Plan:  a. A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

(i) B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch

 (or)

 (ii) B.Pharm.

 (or)

 (iii) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts,  which are prescribed.

b. (i) 10+2+AMIE

 (or)

(ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.

Entrance Test Fee (Only through Online)

Candidates have to pay Rs. 600/- ( Rs. 300/- for SC /SCA /ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) towards the entrance test fee for any one of the program either

3. M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan Degree program.

Candidate registering for more than one program has to pay  Rs. 600/- ( Rs. 300/- for SC/SCA/STcandidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) for each additional program through online only.

Candidates have to register only one application for all the three entrance tests.

Documents required for Registration

Valid email-ID and mobile number. Provide only your currently used email and mobile number, as this office communicates only through email/mobile.

A passport photo of good quality in jpg format.

Copy of community certificate in pdf format, for those who belong to SC/ST/SCA.

Image of your signature in jpg format (Signature should be in black or blue ink with white background).

Candidates should download the hall tickets from the Anna University website on 05 March 2021.

Without hall ticket, there is no entry for exam.

If the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can beobtained on payment of Rs. 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary (TANCET), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 indicating the Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the ExaminationCentre.
