Exam Details

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management University (GITAM) Conduct  GITAM Admission Test. which is popularly known as GITAM GAT Exam every year for candidates who want to get admission to various undergraduate and post graduate courses.

Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer.

The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

Merit list for admissions

25% of seats are reserved for meritorious students from Karnataka State for admission at Bengaluru Campus.

The merit position of the candidates for admission will be based on the rank (UG)/ score (PG) obtained in GAT - 2021 subject to the rule of reservation as per UGC guidelines / norms as applicable to GITAM.

A candidate qualified in GAT - 2021 will be eligible for admission only if he / she fulfils the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination as per the eligibility criteria.

25% of seats are reserved for meritorious students from Karnataka State for admission at Bengaluru Campus.

Eligibility

B.Tech/B.Tech Biotechnology/B.Pharm/B.Arch:  candidate who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in examination year or a previous year from any recognized board

B.Tech. programs: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

B.Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

B.Pharmacy: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects. 

B.Arch: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination  with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main).

B.Sc./BCA/BEM: Pass 10+2 from recognised board with minimum 50% marks.

B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science), B.Sc. (Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science): Pass 10+2  with  Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent

B.Sc. (Mathematics,  Statistics, Data Science), B.Sc. (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science): Pass 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the subjects or equivalent

B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry: Pass 10+2 with  Chemistry as one of the subjects or equivalent

B.Sc. (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioinformatics): Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry  and Mathematics / Biology or equivalent D.Pharmacy/Vocational Course  with Fisheries / Sericulture / Dairying / MLT / Physiotherapy 

B.Sc. (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry), B.Sc. (Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry), B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology, Five year Integrated M.Sc. Biotechnology (with an option to secure B.Sc. at the end of 3rd year and B.Sc. (Hons.) at the end of 4th year): Pass  10+2 with Physics, Chemistry  and Mathematics/Biology or equivalent D.Pharmacy/Vocational Course  with  Fisheries / Sericulture / Dairying.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology: Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry  and Mathematics / Biology or  equivalent.

BBA/B.Com: Pass 10+2 with minimum 50% marks with Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemisty

B.A LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com. LLB: Pass 10+2 with minimum  45% marks with Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemisty

B.Sc. Nursing:  Candidate should pass minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Biology, Physics, Chemistry & English subjects.

M.Arch: B.Arch with 50% marks.

M.Pharmacy: B.Pharm with 50% marks.

M.Tech.:  60% in B.E/B.Tech in related stream:

M.Tech. Computer Science & Technology:  B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent

M.Tech. Cyber Security: B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent

M.Tech. Industrial Engineering & Management: Any Engineering Degree or its equivalent

M.Tech. Biotechnology: B.Tech. in Biotechnology or B.Pharm or equivalent or B.Tech. Chemical Engineering or M.Sc.in Chemistry /Microbiology / Bioinformatics / Biotechnology) with proficiency in basic Biology with proficiency in basic Mathematics.

M.Tech. Food Processing Technology: B.Tech. Bio-Technology/Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/B.Pharmacy and M.Sc. in Chemistry / Food Science with Proficiency in Basic Biology and Biotechnology or MSC in any area of Biological Science with Proficiency in Basic Mathematics.

Upload of Photograph and Signature

  • Upload your recent passport size color photograph (Not older than 3 months) and signature.
  • The scanned image of photograph and signature should be in jpg/jpeg format.
  • Size of the photo image and signature must be more than 4 kb and less than 50 kb.
  • Dimension of photograph image should be 4 cm (width) x 4 cm (Height).
  • Dimension of signature image should be 4 cm (width) x 2 cm (Height).

Pay Application form fee through online Debit Card /Credit Card/ Net Banking.

Or

Payment of registration fee through Demand Draft.

Offline

Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate's name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs. 800/- drawn in favour of GITAM (Deemed to be University) payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank.

Request for applications by post will be accepted upto 30th March 2021

Applications are also available throughout India in selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.
