St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences (SJNAHS) was established in the year 1963 with the aim of training healthcare personnel committed to serving the poor in the margins. SJNAHS is a self-financing private Institution. It is managed by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (C.B.C.I. http://www.cbci.in/) through the CBCI Society for Medical Education (a Registered Charitable Trust with it's office in Bengaluru).
St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences consists of the following institutions:
- St. John's Medical College (Established: 1964)
- St. John’s Medical College Hospital (Established: 1975)
- St. John’s College of Nursing (Established: 1980)
- St. John’s Institute of Allied Health Sciences (Established: 1975)
- St. John’s Research Institute (Established: 2004)
St. John’s Medical College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and recognised for post-graduate degree courses, with the approval of the Medical Council of India and the Government of Karnataka.
