• (10+2)   or equivalent   with  PCM or Computer Sciences or Biotechnology or Biology, as one of the optional subjects with minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in aggregate.
• Candidate  with  a  diploma  in  the  appropriate branch of engineering awarded by a State Board of Technical Education, and with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) in aggregate in diploma.
• Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply. However, their results should be sent to SMIT by fax as soon as the result is declared.  Course applied for must be clearly mentioned.
• Entrance Test:  JEE, MU-OET or SMIT Offline Test
• Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination

Lateral Entry

1. Three years diploma in appropriate branch of engineering with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates with the diploma in the same branch of engineering.
2. Three years' B Sc degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects, with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/OBC candidates)  marks in aggregate.
3. Diploma in appropriate branch OR B Sc with Mathematics, with 60% marks
