Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MA in SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics

Candidates must pass the Bachelor's Degree examination in any subject of Goa university or any other recognized university with a minimum of 40 % marks to apply for the Programme.

Applicants are required to fill out a 300 word Statement of Purpose (SOP) in why they want to take up a career in Tourism Management and why they should be inducted into the Programme

Admission Process

Application Procedure for MA in SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics

Admission Form, duly completed in all respects, to be submitted to the college along with:

Graduation final year/semester mark sheet (duly attested). In case the results are delayed by the applicant's University, a provisional mark sheet issued by the applicant's College may be provided at the time of admission.
Four passport size photographs.
Transfer Certificate from respective college for graduates of Goa University.
Eligibility Certificate from Goa University (applicable for students from other Universities); subsequently, submission of the Passing and Migration Certificate from respective Universities.

On receipt of the above, the College shall verify the documents and applicant will be called for an interview. The college wishes to ensure that applicants are academically capable of following the course and are willing to complete the course successfully.

As such, applicants are advised to ensure they provide all the information as required in the admission process. The College may ask for additional information and documentation if required.

RESERVATION UNDER VARIOUS CATEGORIES As per the revised guidelines of the UGC, reservation of seats in case of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates for admission to the programme shall be on the basis of the reservation policy of Goa State Government.

2% seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates belonging to SC category.
12% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates belonging to ST category. Candidates applying for admission under these categories shall be required to submit a certificate to that effect issued by the officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or above.
27% of total seats, subject to a minimum of two seats, shall be reserved for candidates belonging to other backward classes (OBC) of the State of Goa as per the directives of the State Government. Candidates applying under this category shall be required to submit a certificate issued to that effect by the officer of the rank of the Mamlatdar or above.
3% of total seats, subject to minimum one seat shall be reserved for differently abled candidates (as per State Government directives).
