Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS), Deralakatte was established in 1992. It is affiliated to the Nitte University and is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Government of India. The School of Nursing, which is a unit of the Nitte Education Trust, was recognised by the Karnataka Nursing Council in 1995 and the Indian Nursing Council in 1996. Students who pass out from the school are awarded with a diploma from the Karnataka state diploma in Nursing examination board, Bangalore.
