The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya was established in the year 2010 and started functioning from its temporary campus in Shillong, Meghalaya in 2012.
NIT-Meghalya is one among the thirty-one NITs in India established as an Institute of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The Institute currently offers BTech programme in five desciplines, MTech in five specializations, MSc in three streams and PhD programme in the various desciplines of Engineering, Science and Humanities.
