M Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment) Affiliated to: Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand Recognized by: Rehabilitation Council of India The Objectives of course is to prepare teacher educators to work in various institutions offering courses in Special Education. It also prepare educational administrators and managers to work as head of teacher training institutions, project officers, consultants, counsellors and coordinators. The Course will be of two years. Each year will be of 32-36 weeks; 2 weeks in summer and 2 weeks in winter semester break will also be utilized for covering the courses. This comes to 64-72 weeks + 6 weeks for field activities/skill development with 40 credits in each year. The duration of the Course is two academic years, which can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of admission to the programme. |

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MEd Spl. Education in National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities - Divyangjan Aspirants seeking admission must have passed B.Ed. Special Education (V.I.) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university or any other degree considered equivalent to B.Ed. Special Education (V.I.) from an affiliating university and/or teaching department under any university recognised by UGC. or Candidates seeking admission should have passed B.Ed. and has passed one year/ two years Diploma Course in Special Education (V.I.) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India with minimum 50% marks in each course. SELECTION CRITERIA The admissions would be granted on the basis of merit of entrance test. DATE AND PLACE OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The entrance test will be conducted by the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), 116, Rajpur Road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on 16th January, 2022. The candidate with visual impairment will be provided scribe by the Institute. The entire entrance test will be video graphed to maintain transparency. The written test of 100 marks will consist of the following:
Disability Awareness (Descriptive Type): 20 Marks The duration of the entrance test will be 2 hours. Extra time @ 20 minutes per hour will be given to the person with disability. |

The Prospectus cum Application Form can be obtained in person on payment of Rs. 400/- (Rupee Four Hundred only) for General Category/OBC candidates and Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) for SC/ST/PH/Economically Weaker Section candidates. Payment can be made by cash/debit card/ credit card or a bank draft drawn in favour of Director, N.I.V.H., Dehradun, payable at Dehradun on all working days during office hours from 9.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M.
If the Prospectus-Cum-Application Form is required by post, an extra amount of Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty only) shall have to be paid. The Institute shall dispatch the Prospectus containing application form within 3 days from the receipt of the request.
Prospectus cum Application Form can also be downloaded from the website of the Institute. The downloaded filled in application form should accompany the prescribed fee through demand draft in favour of Director, NIVH, payable at Dehradun.
The application form meant for SC/ ST/ PwDs/ Economically Weaker Section candidates, will be rejected forthwith if used by general candidates. The filled-in-application form completed in all respects should reach on or before the last date of receipt of application form at the following address:

The envelope of the letter requesting the Prospectus must be subscribed at the left top corner as “Request for Prospectus-Cum-Application Form for M.Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment)/ B.Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment)." The name and address of the candidate and course must be clearly written on the back side of the demand draft. The amount once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances. The candidates wishing to obtain Application Form by post must also send a self addressed envelop of A4 size.
