Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University with Kannada as major/optional subject are eligible for the programme minimum  45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Kannada.

Candidates who have passed the respective language / literature asa minor subject or first/ second language at the degree level are also eligible provided they have secured not less than 60% marks inaggregate in the respective subject as a minor or first / secondlanguage. These marks are to be equated with marks of optionalKannada in the ratio of 60:45.

Candidates who have passed B.A. Degree with Bharathanatyam as one of the optional subject or any other degree considered as equivalent thereto with two years Diploma in Bharathanatyam or one year PG Diploma in Bharathanatyam or with Senior Certificateof KSSEB in Bharathanatyam are eligible for admission.

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Economics as major/optional subject are eligible minimum  marks 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates)  in the subject

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with English as major/ optional subject (thecognate subject) are eligible and secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-1candidates) marks in the cognate subject.

Candidates who have studied Additional English of MangaloreUniversity for not less than two years/ four semesters are alsoeligible to apply provided such applicants have scored not less than60% marks in aggregate in the examination of the subject. The marks scored in the English First or Second Language examination sor Additional English examinations would be equated with themarks of optional English (the cognate subject) as follows:

1. 60% in English First or Second Language to 45% of optionalEnglish (the cognate subject).

2. 60% in Additional English is equal to 48% of optional English(the cognate subject)

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination ofMangalore University or any other University considered asequivalent thereto with Hindi as major/ optional subject are eligiblefor admission to the programme provided they have secured aminimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks inHindi.

Candidates who have passed any one of the following Hindiexaminations are also eligible for admission:

a) Rastra Bhasha Praveen Uttarardh of Dakshina Bharath HindiPrachar Sabha, Madras.

b) Rajabhasha Vidwan or Rajabhasha Prakash Examination ofKarnataka Hindi Prachar Samithi, Bangalore.

c) Hindi Ratna Examination of Mysore Hindi PracharParishat,Bangalore.

d) Bhasha Praveen Examination of Karnatak Mahila Hindi SevaSamithi, Bangalore

The Candidates who have passed any Bachelors degree of MangaloreUniversity or any other University with any one of these followingHindi certificate are eligible

a) Sahithya Visharad Hindi Prachar Smithi

b) Sahithya Rathna of Hindi Sahithya Sammelan, Prayag

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with History/Ancient History/Archaeology asmajor/optional subject are eligible for the programme providedthey have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-Icandidates) marks in the subject.

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered asequivalent thereto with Kannada as major/optional subject areeligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Kannada.

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Political Science as major/optional subjectare eligible for the programme provided they have secured aminimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the subject.

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered asequivalent thereto with Sanskrit as major/optional subject areeligible for admission to the programme provided they have secureda minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marksin Sanskrit.

Candidates who have passed the respective language /literature as a minor subject or first/ second language at the degreelevel are also eligible provided they have secured not less than 60%marks in aggregate in the respective subject as a minor or first/second language. Candidates who have passed Vidwatmadhyama conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, Bangalore orShastri/Prakshiromani of Sanskrit Universities/DeemedUniversities or Praveen Examinations conducted by the EndowmentDepartment of Karnataka Government or any other degreeequivalent thereto or B.A.M.S./ B.N.Y.S. or any other degreeequivalent thereto are also eligible. 

Candidates who have passed three years B.A. Degree examination o fMangalore University or any other University  with Sociology as major/optional subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimumof 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in thesubject.
