The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) is a business school headquartered in New Delhi and has 18 branches across India. Founded in 1973, the institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in national economic planning and entrepreneurship, and international and fellowship programmes. Its executive education programmes include non-credit courses and visits to foreign business schools.
In 2011, IIPM was ranked the fifth-best business school in India by Zee Business. In the same year it was ranked as the best business school from among 29 countries in Asia by Hindustan Times Education. IIPM has been involved in controversies about its advertising. The University Grants Commission – a government organisation responsible for the standards of university education in India – has repeatedly issued public notices stating that IIPM is unrecognised and that its technical programmes are invalid.
