Exam Details

JELET 2020  is conducted by  the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) in order to shortlist interested candidate  for admission in Lateral Entry programs offered at Presidency University, Kolkata.

The JELET 2020  dates have been released and the JELET exam will be conducted on  28 June 2020.

The process to fill the PUBDET 2020 application forms will be started on on 26 March 2020

 

Pattern of Question Papers

The paper will contain 100 MCQ ( Multiple- Choice Questions) type, with four options against each question.

Each question carries 1 marks, full mark of the paper is 100 and duration of the test 2 hours.

The question will be in English language only.

The paper consists of various section depending on the qualifying Diploma /B.Sc.exam the candidate has passed / appeared/ appearing.

Scoring Methodology

a) Al questions will have four answer options

b) Only one option is correct

C) Correct response will yield 2 marks.

d) Incorrect response will yield-- 1/2 (25% negative) marks.

e) For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield 1/2 (25% negative) marks

f) Not attempting the question will carry zero marks. 

 

Carry following documents to enter the examination centre

A Hard copy of admit card

A copy of colour photograph as was uploaded during online application

Any photo identity card in original such as Adhaar card/ Pan card/ Passport/ Voter Card/ 10th standard admit card/Schoo -Id Card.

 

 

Allocation of examination centre

Diploma holder in engineering/technology will choose any 3 of the following 17 zones in order if their perference

Bankura, Asansol, Durgapur, Burdwan, Coocherbehar, Siliguri, Srirampur, Howrah, Kokata-Central, Kokata- North/Salt lake, Kokata- south, Malda, Kharagpur, Haldia, Behrampur, Kalyanai, Agratala 

Diploma holder in Pharmacy will choose any 3 of the following 17 zones in order if their perference

Duragapur, Siliguri, Kolkata- noth/salt lake 

B.Sc. candidates will have only option - Kolkata/Salt lake

 

 

Eligibility

There is no upper age limit for Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy

For B.Sc. candidates, the upper age limit is 27 years as on 31 December 2020

For Diploma holders in marine Engineering , the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31 December 2020

 

Diploma hoders seeking admission into Engineering and Technology Degree 

The Candidate must pass diploma in any branch from an institute recognised and appoved by AICTE. 

The candidate must obtain 45% (40% for Sc/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD) maks or equivalent CGPA in diploma exam in related branch.

For admission in Jadavpur Unviersity, the candidate must secure at leat 60% (45% for Sc/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD) marks in diploma in related branch 

 

B.Sc. candidate seeking admission into Engineering and Technology course

The candidate must pass B.Sc. degree from recognised unviersity with atleat 45% (40% for Sc/ST/OBC/PWD).

Candidate should pass 12th with Mathematics as a subject.

The candidate, if admitted will have to clear the subject of engineering mecahnical and engineering graphics/ engineering drawing of the 1st year degree course in engineering/technology along with their 2nd year subjects.

B.Sc. candidate will be given admission if vacancies remain even after filling the seats with available diploma holder candidates.

B.Sc. candidate are not eligible for admission into degree course in Pharmacy, in Jadhavpur University through lateral entry.

 

Both B.sc. candidate and Diploma holders engineering and technology will also eligbible for admission to the 1st year Engineering Degree course , subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibity criterial as mentioned above.

 

Diploma holder in Pharmacy seeking admission into Degree course in Pharmacy

The candidate must pass Diploma in Pharmacy an institute approved by the Pharmacy council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

The candidate must secured minimum 45% (40% for Sc/ST/OBC/PWD) marks or equivalent.

Such candidate will also be eligible for admission to the ist year  degree course subject to vacancies in the ist year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted.

Hoever the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.

You will get appication number, password, security code.

Upload scanned copy of photograph and signature as per the instructions provided in the information bulletin.

Pay application fee Rs. 500/- + Bank charges by Net Banking/Debit Card/ Credit card.

Keep copies of confirmation page, admit card in safe custody.
