Two railway and road projects, involving a total investment of Rs. 1,500 crore, were launched here on Sunday.
While Mallikarjun Kharge, union railway minister, laid foundation stone of the Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line, Oscar Fernandes, union minister for road transport and highways, laid the foundation stone of highway project in the presence of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, MPs Deependar Hooda and Ashok Tanwar at Hansi on Sunday.
The projects include 68km long Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line costing Rs. 500 crore and four-lane of 99km long Hisar-Rohtak section of national highway to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,000 crore. The rail route will have eight railway stations, four crossing stations and four halt stations.
The road project will have two road over bridges, under pass and 29-bus bays on its both sides.
Later, a rail-road rally was also organised at Anaj Mandi here.
