A Candidate who has passed higher secondary examination in any one of thebiological sciences namelyBotanyand Zoologyor Biologysubjectsunderhighersecondaryboard examination,TamilNadu oraspernormssetbythe Government ofTamilNadu oran examinationacceptedas Equivalenttheretoby theSyndicatesubject to such conditions as may b eprescribed theretoare permitted toappear and qualifyfor the B.Sc., Microbiologydegreeexamination ofthisUniversityafteracourseofstudyof three years.

Candidates shall be required to have passed in any higher secondary course examination of the state board/ CBSE/ ICSE .Pass in any Textile, Apparel, Costume, Garment Technology, Manmade Fibres, Textile Production, Textile Marketing, Merchandising and Fashion related Diploma course is eligible to admit in direct second year of this UG course.

Candidates are required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic stream) conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination as equivalent to 10 +2 courses including CBSE, which have been recognized by the Periyar University.

Candidates seeking admission to the first year Degree course shall be required to have passed PUC/12th Std. / 10+2/ its equivalent with at least Biology and Chemistry as two optional subjects.

A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board or an examination of some other board accepted by the syndicate as equivalent thereto with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects namely, Botany, Zoology or Biology shall be eligible for admission into B.Sc., course in Chemistry.

Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Government of TamilNadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate.

Higher Secondary with Pure Mathematics as one Subject.
