Candidate should have passed 10+2 in Science with PCM from recognised board.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 50%.

Minimum 45% for reserved category.

Candidate minimum age should be 17 years and maximum age should be 21 years.

Candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

Lateral Entry- Duration 3 year: Candidate should have passed 3- year Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. with Mathematics obtained minimum 50% marks.

Minimum 45% for reserved category.

Selection Process: Valid Score in Common Entrance Test.

Exemption from examination

Candidates nominated against reserved seats for other State, Union Territories and Foreign Countries by their Governments provided they satisfy the condition for eligibility.

Candidates ranked within the first 10 positions in the Assam 10+2 Science exam, secured minimum 75% marks in aggregate in which they seek admission.

Candidates must apply for direct admission within 10 days of publication of the qualifying exam result, to the Director of Technical Education, Assam.

Some seats are reserved for candidates nominated by the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram as per allocation of the Government of India.

Seven seats are reserved for Sons and Daughters of employees of the Central Government and Central Public Sector Undertaking, posted in Assam, and having served in the State for at least one year.

Such candidates must full fill following two criteria.

Their parents must not be permanent residents of Assam, and they must have passed the qualifying exam from institute located outside the State of Assam.
