National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to first year of 5 year BArch Degree course at all recognized institutions all over the country NATA - 2017 National Aptitude Test in Architecture acronym as NATA is held for admission to first year 5 years Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree course for all Architectural Institutions of repute in the country that includies NITs, IITs Govt. Institutions, Government-aided Institutions, Universities, Deemed Universities and Private Universities, established by a Central or State Legislature and other private Institutions

What is NATA? The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for Architecture The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability, that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study (Architecture)

Qualifying marks for NATA-2017 would be based on the following rules:

1. At least 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (30 out of 120)

2. At least 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (20 out of 80)

3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

Candidate will not qualify in NATA-2017 unless (s)he satisfies all three conditions mentioned above. 

An attempt will be made to normalize (with respect to NATA-2017) the score of NATA-2016 qualified candidates seeking admission in the session 2017-18 in order to specify their position in order of merit for counselling purposes. Such guidelines would be based on statistical analysis and the Council’s decision would be final in this regard.

Allocation of Examination Centre:

The allocation of examination centre spread across all state capitals and other selected cities subject toavailability of at least 250 students in general. Cities will be based on the choices given by the candidateduring online form fill-up. However, discretion of the Council in allocation of examination centre shall befinal.


Any person having passed SSC (Std X) or equivalent examination and above can appear for NATA.However, only candidates who have qualified an aptitude test in Architecture and have secured 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects, shall be eligible for admission toB.Arch. Course.

No direct lateral admission is allowed at any year/stage of B.Arch. course based on anyqualification. NATA score shall be valid for a period of two years from the year in which one appeared. 

How To Apply:

NATA 2017 Registration form can be filled and submitted ONLINE from this website by payment of NATA fees of Rs. 1250.00 (+ Processing Charges) using Netbanking / Credit Cards / ICICI Isure Bank Challan

Download the Prefilled Registration form and procure the necessary registration documents.

Select a Test Center / Region (from the website at a location convenient to the candidate and apply.

The candidate shall be required to pay additional charges as “processing charges” for the following:-

  • Domestic Credit Card:- 1.25% of the NATA Fee plus service tax as applicable
  • Domestic Debit Card:- 0.75% of the NATA Fees plus service tax as applicable
  • Domestic Multiple Bank Net Banking Payment Gateway:- Rs.15 per transaction
  • Collection through PAN India ICICI Branches in cash (through challan) :- Rs.30 per transactionFor International Credit Card / Debit Card the charges may apply as per the policy of the Bank.
