Exam Details

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programs of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2020-21 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani.

This test will be referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test  2020’, in short as BITSAT 2020  here after in this document.

(ii) at BITS, Pilani – K. K. Birla Goa Campus

B.E.: Chemical, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical.

M.Sc.: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.

(iii) at BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad Campus

BITSAT 2021 Test Format

BITSAT 2021 will be of total 3-hour duration (without break).

The test consists of four parts:

Part I : Physics

Part II : Chemistry

Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning

Part IV: Mathematics or Biology (For B.Pharm candidates)

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice.

Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1mark).

There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change anyof his/her answers among the 150 questions.

If a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate willhave an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left. These extraquestions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only; four questions fromeach part. Further, once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he/she cannot go back forcorrection of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

BITSAT 2021 will be conducted on 24 June to 30 June 2021.

Eligibility

For B.E./M.Sc. (Integrated):  Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.

For admission to B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English.

However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.

Admissions to all the programs are subject to the conditions given below

The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT)

or

a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology subjects.

Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2021 or who have passed12th Examination in 2020 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2021 test. If a candidatehas taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance isconsidered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/coursesprescribed. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligibleto appear in BITSAT 2021.

Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of itscampuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2021.

There is not any seats reserved for NRIs.

Syllabus

The BITSAT-2021 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th class. Candidates may refer to the NCERT textbooksfor the contents. A sample test demonstrating the features of BITSAT-2021 will be made available to the registered candidates at the BITS admission website on which he/she canpractice as many times as desired.

Fees

Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT 2021 by applying in the prescribed application form online.

A candidate has to complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees.

Also take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference.

The prescribed fee for BITSAT 2021 is Rs. 3400/- (three thousand four hundred only) for male candidates and Rs. 2900/- (two thousand nine hundred only) for female candidates.

This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. 

 If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the application fee for both male and female candidates will be same and will be Rs.7000/-
