Exam Details

The National Law University, Delhi established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 is premier Law University established in thecapital city of India.

The University invites applications for admission to BA LLB (Hons), LLM and Ph.D Programs for the Academic Year 2024-25

Seats Distribution

LLM: 80

BA LLB (Hons): 80

70 Seats on merit through AILET.

10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/ PIO)].

Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET.

Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Note: 01  additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

02 additional supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir. 

Entrance Test (AILET) structure

The AILET has 150 Multiple Choice Questions for 150 marks that must be attempted within 1 hour 30 minutes.

The AILET has sections on English, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. 

It will be pen and paper exam,

Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2024.

Negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 (per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted).

Eligibility

BA LLB (Hons):  Five-Year Program:  Pass 10+2  Examination or Equivalent Examination with  at least 50% marks.

The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/ April 2024 can also apply.

LLM: One-Year Program: LLB or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks.

Minimum 50% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities.

The candidates appearing in final year LLB Examination in April/ May, 2024 can also apply.

Ph.D Program: LLM Degree with 55% Marks or its Equivalent.

Minimum 50% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities.

Or

Judge of any State High Court in India with three years’ experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.

Note: There is no maximum and minimum age limit for appearing in the AILET 2024 for any program.

Foreign nationals or OCI/PIO are exempted from appearing in the AILET 2024 subject to the condition that they have applied under such categories.

Fees

General Category/ Kashmiri Migrants/ Resident of Jammu & Kashmir: Rs. 3,500/- .

SC & ST Category and Persons with Disability Rs. 3,500/- .

Application fee in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs. 1,500/-(Rupees One thousand Five Hundred Only).

BelowPoverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST category are exempted from application fee.

Following documents to be uploaded

(i.) The candidate should upload his/her recent colour passport size photograph with white background & size as specified (i.e. 1 MB).

(ii.) Passport size photograph should not have cap, goggles etc. (Spectacles are allowed). The face of the candidate should cover about 75% of the photograph. The photograph must clearly show the face of the candidate in the preview box/page.

(iii.) Image and scanned signatures should be in .jpg/.jpeg format only.

(iv.) The candidate should also upload his/ her scanned signature on white paper with maximum size of 1 MB.

(v.) Candidate signature should be clear and without overwriting on a white paper with Black/Blue pen within a box of 6*3cms (width*height) and clearly visible in the preview box/ page.

The candidate should keep two identical photographs with him/ her, in reserve, which may be used for pasting on the Admit Card at the time of Entrance Test/ Counselling/ Admission if required.
